Is how I was introduced to Ryan Dunn in 2006? Mike called him that whenever he was noticed in public out here in Ohio. No this ain’t dunn this is Randy. Anyway what a shitty situation. The world knows this dude as the dude who shoved a car up his ass. I got to see the off camera Ryan a handful of times. And this dude was one of the best dudes I’ve ever met. He was funny, optimistic on everything but himself, super caring and always had a smile on his face. I was listening to the radio the other day and he was on there talking about getting all “rooster chested” in bars (talking about meathead dooshes) and I remember smoking in the back of annebels “gettin rooster chested” with each other. And sheena reminded me of our adventure in west chester with Ry where after a long night at the note, we took the back roads to his house, and almost ended up into the back of an explorer at 100+mph. Oof. He was one hell of a driver. But looking back we should have not been in the car. I got to know Ryan thru mike, and I knew him as a cool dude that had an awesome lifestyle, drank whiskey smoked cigs, and loved cars. The first years of my adult life I sort of idolized those dudes, and went from that perspective, to the other side where they’re just cool dudes. Which is the main reason for this, if you read any article from someone who knew him well, they mention his love for Angie. I still idolize him because of his love for her. Different than anything I have ever seen. It was something special. I remember him sobbing in the woods with mike cause she was mad at him, young love style, when they were together for 10 years. He really did talk about how perfect she was, with or without her by his side. So I say, I need to idolize that, and be more like him in that respect. My heart breaks for Angie, and for his friends, who lost 2 close friends that night, not just one. It will get easier, speaking from experience, but never better. There will truly never be another Ryan Dunn.
